Hi, I'm Carol!
I've been dressmaking for nearly a decade. It's my ultimate creative outlet, and how I found my personal style and learned what actually fits my body.
As every maker knows, nothing beats browsing fabric in person: feeling the drape, checking the weight, or hunting down a deadstock gem. I created this directory because I wanted a single, go-to space to discover new physical shops, find places where local makers gather, and unearth spots that weren't already on my radar.
While this journey starts right here on home turf in London, the network isn't stopping at the M25. London is simply our starting hub; the mission is to continuously expand across England into one connected map. Many of these listings come from my own fabric runs and studio visits, but this directory is truly built alongside the wider craft community, shaped by recommendations from makers everywhere.
What started as a personal project to map London's fabric shops is now growing into a field guide for makers everywhere.
